10:47am

liquid fast. (600) max intake. so...coffee, tea, vitamin water zero, cranberry juice drink which is (120) for 8oz. but i'm confused. my daily limit on a normal day is (600). what's the difference if it's liquid or solid?? i'm asking honestly. i'm not sure what the deal is with liquid fasts.
anyway, i'm still the same weight. i don't like it. i hate the window after losing weight quickly where you inevitably maintain for a bit. it's frustrating. it's usually when i screw up. but i won't this time. since i'm not eating today, i won't eat tomorrow, either. apples are my safe food right now. if i need my mother to see me eating something, it will be an apple. i might see her around 3pm today. if i don't, i'll see her around 9pm tonight. half an apple at 9pm won't kill me. oh, i wanted to ask you guys. do you guys work out on the days when you fast? i do. it drives me loony if i don't. i noticed that someone had posted "fasting=no gym time, yay." so i'm just wondering. it's fine if you're not as obsessive about exercise as i am. it gets in the way sometimes.

yes, stolen from epicfail. but, really, the only whale-sized creatures in the water should be the whales. even in lakes. stay strong, lovelies.

  1. OMG I'd be so mortified to be that one girl in the last pic!!

I think the liquids vs solids thing just has to do with 1. shrinking your stomach (liquids don't take up as much room?) and 2. washing you out, coz liquids aren't as hard to digest. That's my theory anyway; don't you always feel thinner and lighter after a liquid fast? Maybe it's just a mental thing though haha.

I exercise WHENEVER POSSIBLE, be it a fast day or otherwise. If you do exercise on a fast day though, make sure you're getting your electrolytes!

Good luck on your fast darling!! <3

  2. Yeah, I think it's for the same reasons PollyAnna said, it takes up less space and cleanses your insides :)
I always try to exercise on liquid fast, but not on the second day of a water fast, becaus thats too hard for me :P
    Stay strong and good luck!

  3. i think the main difference is that liquid calories arent turned into fat as easily? im not sure.. but i do know after liquid fasts, even if they are not as low calorie, i always lose a little bit. and yes, i try to exercise all the time, whether im fasting or not but sometimes i feel too weak to do it...
thanks for your lovely comment, it always makes me feel better when you write on my blog :)

  4. I exercise a little because I hate the feeling of not doing it, but I ease up. If you exercise a lot without getting enough protein your muscles won't be able to reconstruct and they will just get smaller. Less muscle=less fat burning so go easy.

  5. I think that 600 is a good goal on a liquid day because it won't leave you too exhausted or light-headed. As for exercise, I exercise on fasting days, but I try to keep it less intense because on the first or second day of fasting I typically don't have a lot of energy.

Thanks for the positive comments dear. I love your blog and reading your thoughts. I wish I had as much discipline as you do when it comes to restriction and fasting - if I did, I'd be unstoppable with the way I hit the gym... you are definitely my inspiration this week.

  6. I heard that exercising on a empty stomache can be bad for your system,, but oh well,

  7. I think that liquid calories somehow have less impact but only from experience rather than because science says so.
Foody science always confuses me even tho I spend so long trying to understand it.
I think it's admirable that you CAN excersize whilst fasting, so well done! It's good to hear you're doing well (:
&& the model agency is a UK docu series about premier models in London, it's a channel 4 ting so it might be on the interwebz somewhere. It's mostly about the bookers but there's still always some skinny cow wandering about in the background.

  8. I don't work out when I fast because I'm just not capable of it. I start to feel sick and like I'm going to pass out. But since you get calories in what you're drinking maybe that's why you're ok. I'll have to try it. Either way, more power to you if you can do both!
There was a girl at my highschool who dropped a lot of weight in record time. She was always carrying a bottle of water and if she was eating it was either an apple or zero cal yogurt. Your apples just reminded me of her.
Don't worry about the weight plateau right now! Once you get over it you'll drop weight fast. That's how it's been for me in the past anyway.

  9. A calorie is a calorie, but I think liquid calories are easier on my system, just because there isn't much to digest compared to solids. I find liquid days help reduce bloating too. I usually try to work out a bit if I have the energy, so it's up to you. Hope you get over the plateau soon!
P.S.: Your pictures and cynical comments always make me happy :) When I saw the last picture, I burst out laughing, then I felt really bad for the girl. Very unfortunate for that picture to be taken...

  11. I can't really fast a whole day... lame.
Oh, Zette, I always love your thin vs average/fat. This one really takes the cake. The other girls are quite literally perfect, then that one...

  12. Liquid calories are uh... passed faster so they're less killer. I don't exercise on water fast days but on other liquid fast days yea. I just get to dizzy and weak on water fast ones. I hate that lagg too. Its so frustrating to see the same number on the scale day after day. Stay strong though, time will show our determination.

  15. Bahaha zette your pics and comments always crack me up ! (cough cough...depsite the fact that I look/feel/AM that whale in the picture....eek!)

I do hate the time of "chilling" at a weight after dropping like 5 to 7 pounds in a week. I think its enivatable no matter what....sadly....and we all know it. Don't get frustrated your doing FAB as always and youll pass thru it!

Thanks so much for the super nice comment on my last blog post. I heart u big time girl. <3

  16. I'm pretty sure the thing with liquid is the fact that it takes less time to pass through your system.

And I'm not a huge fan of exercising when fasting. I does that the edge off during but afterward I get a headache and my ears start to pop, so usually I try to eat something before working out.

  17. I usually go for long walk when I do fasts because it's easy on the body and its nice to get out of the house. Liquid diets help the GI tract heal, because it's easy to digest. I do them with my bf because I have celiac disease and he has crohns.

  18. look how much loves you have today! Wow. hmm. Yes to gym! I burned a bit over 400 today, 550 consumed. Liquid passes through quickly, that's why it's so nice. :) thanks for keeping me strong doll.

  19. depends on the length of a fast and the liquid cals. I only stop exercising when I get too weak/dizzy to work out safely (cause I do heavy weights so they'd kill me) So I'll usually work out till day 4 then switch to some yoga and pilates and just walks... stay safe hun xxx
